How the catch-up works
1. An honest look at where things stand
We start with a short conversation and a look at your file. How far back it goes, what's been lodged, what's missing — no lectures, just a clear picture.
2. A plan and a price
You get a plan for the catch-up work and what it will cost before we begin, so there are no surprises halfway through.
3. Rebuild the records
Bank feeds reconnected and reconciled, transactions coded correctly, payroll checked, and balance sheet accounts brought back to something that actually reconciles.
4. Lodge what's outstanding
As registered BAS Agents we prepare and lodge the overdue activity statements, and can talk to the ATO with you about where you've ended up.
5. Keep it from happening again
Once you're up to date we can take on the monthly bookkeeping, or set you up with a simple routine you can manage yourself.
Common questions
How far behind is too far?
We've taken on files several years behind. The work is bigger, but it's the same work — the sooner it starts, the smaller it stays.
Will I be in trouble with the ATO?
Getting overdue lodgements in is almost always better than leaving them. This is general information only — we'll talk through your situation and work with your accountant where needed.
What do you need from me?
Access to your accounting file, bank statements for the period and any records you still have. We'll tell you exactly what's missing as we go.
Do I have to be in Cairns?
No. Catch-up work is done remotely for clients right across Australia, and in person for those close to our Cairns office.
